Directed by and starring Chang Hongji, the dance theater work The Voyage of Life takes “the growth of life in an era of human–machine symbiosis” as its theme. It follows a boy named Shengming on an inner journey of self-discovery between the real world and a virtual realm constructed by AI. Combining contemporary dance vocabulary, real-time projection, and installation art, the work creates an immersive theatrical space. At the meeting point of technology and the humanities, it considers the unique value of life and portrays the growth, choices, and self-awakening of young people facing the digital age. Its pioneering dance language responds to the humanistic questions of the age of artificial intelligence and initiates a profound dialogue between technological development and the growth of life.
