ABOUT CSIAF

China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF) is a state-level comprehensive international arts festival, hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. Since its inception in 1999, guided by the motto of " A Festival of Arts, a Gala for All", the Festival has successfully staged 24 editions, bringing together more than 86,000 artists and over 800 arts organizations from more than 80 countries and regions, and reaching a cumulative audience of nearly 95 million worldwide.
As one of the most influential international arts festivals in the Asia-Pacific region, CSIAF has established eight signature sections: “Global Art” for Performances, “Future of Art” Rising Artists’ Works, “Art Space” community-focused art events, “The City of Art” for “Arts Plus” art education programs, “Art of Connection” for Performing Arts Fair(ChinaSPAF), “A Hundred Schools of Art” for International Dialogues, “Diverse Art” for Parallel and Professional Sessions, and “Infinite Art” for Integration and Innovation. Together, these sections have transformed the Festival into an entrepôt attracting the world's finest international performing arts resources, an international stage leading trends in contemporary art creation, and an essential platform for promoting mutual learning and cultural exchange between Chinese and foreign cultures as well as a showcase displaying how the arts enrich everyday life. The Festival has successfully evolved from a world-class arts festival into a leading force shaping the global cultural landscape.
The 25th China Shanghai International Arts Festival will take place from 17 October to 15 November 2026. This autumn, along the banks of the Huangpu River, we warmly invite you to step into the City's "25th Hour"—where art extends beyond everyday time—and join us for an extraordinary celebration of creativity.
