ARTRA Public Project Celebration, Coexistence and Resonance

The public art project Celebration, Coexistence and Resonance originated from digital paintings created by artist Liu Yi on a mobile phone. Unfolding across the exterior façade of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival Center, the work depicts birds of every hue scattered through a forest woven from multicolored lines, evoking the burst of fireworks and swirling streamers of a joyous celebration. . Inside the glass windows, three luminous birds with wings spread in flight echo those outside. The work was inspired by public submissions to “Birdsong Radio”, which Liu Yi listened to before creating the piece. It embodies a hopeful vision of coexistence and shared celebration while subtly echoing the festival’s logo. Set amid the everyday life of the surrounding neighborhood, the work brings the festival celebration into the realm of daily coexistence, using art to awaken a warm resonance between people and between humanity and nature.
