The music-theater work Dorian is an important piece of work directed by the late contemporary theatre master Robert Wilson, and this performance marks its Asian premiere. Continuing Wilson’s signature “Theatre of Images” aesthetic, the production brings together drama, music, visual art, and spatial design. Inspired by American writer Darryl Pinckney’s original text, it interweaves The Picture of Dorian Gray, the life of painter Francis Bacon, and episodes from Oscar Wilde’s own experience. Through a stream-of-consciousness narrative, the work invites the audience to think profoundly on art, beauty, desire, and morality, creating a theatrical experience rich in both visual poetry and philosophical resonance.
