Vuela is a new work created by Spanish flamenco artist Sara Baras to mark the 25th anniversary of her company and to pay tribute to guitar master Paco de Lucía. This performance marks the work’s Chinese mainland premiere. Comprising fourteen pieces, structured around four acts—“Wood,” “Sea,” “Death” and “Flight”. Through the powerful and passionate dance language of flamenco, the work reveals the artistic beauty generated when music, the body and emotion intertwine. Through stage expression charged with rhythm and dramatic tension, Vuela conveys flamenco’s profound cultural roots and vigorous vitality while celebrating its free and unbridled artistic spirit.
