CONTRE-NATURE is a major 2024 work by French choreographer Rachid Ouramdane, produced by Chaillot - Théâtre national de la Dans. The production will make its Asian premiere at this year’s China Shanghai International Arts Festival. Ten dancers with distinct styles combine aerial performance, physical contact and dance art, creating an entirely new bodily vocabulary through constant encounters, soaring lifts and fluid motion. A minimalist stage, enhanced by light, projection and drifting mist, creates a richly layered theatrical landscape. The production invites audience to reflect on time, memory, absence and the journey of life, while unfolding a poetic physical exploration between reality and imagination and asking how the body carries our connection to the world.
