As one of the most influential pianists of our time, Yuja Wang joins the Mahler Chamber Orchestra for two distinctly different programmes. On 13 November, they focus on Brahms, with both piano concertos following the development of his music. On 14 November, works by Prokofiev, Kapustin, Mozart and Tsfasman bring classical tradition into contact with jazz. Playing and conducting from the piano, Wang enters into close dialogue with the orchestra, combining chamber-music intimacy with symphonic scale in two inventive and remarkable evenings.
