Commemorating the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra performs Lu Qiming’s Ode to the Red Flag, Ding Shande’s Long March Symphony, and the world premiere of the commissioned symphonic choral work The Road of Faith - Sparks and the Journey. Spanning classic and contemporary composition, these three pieces look back on history, honor conviction, and write a symphonic epic of faith, struggle, and national spirit. The programme highlights both the enduring relevance of the Long March’s spirit and the continuing creative vitality of Chinese symphonies.
