Led by Chief Conductor Antonio Pappano, the London Symphony Orchestra returns to the China Shanghai International Arts Festival for two stylistically contrasting concerts with the winner of the 18th International Chopin Piano Competition Bruce Liu. On 22 September, Liu will perform Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C major alongside Liadov’s The Enchanted Lake and Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 in D minor. On 23 September, the orchestra will present Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat major and Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, revealing a rich musical spectrum that reaches from Russian music to the Austro-German symphonic tradition and offering audiences a musical journey across eras and styles.
