The Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia is Italy’s first orchestra dedicated to symphonic music and has premiered several 20th-century masterpieces, including Respighi’s Fountains of Rome and Pines of Rome. Since 1908, great masters such as Mahler, Richard Strauss, and Stravinsky have conducted the ensemble. The orchestra is a regular presence on international stages, including the BBC Proms in London, the Lucerne Festival, and the Musikverein in Vienna. Beginning in the 2024/25 season, Daniel Harding takes on the role of Music Director. A world-renowned opera conductor, he joins forces with pianist Beatrice Rana in a program featuring classics by Verdi, Ravel, and Rachmaninoff.
