Inspired by ISPA’s Pitch New Work Now, Going to Mainland China! is a pitch session designed for new international projects heading for Chinese performing arts market. International companies whose programme has been selected by the ChinaSPAF consultants will have the opportunity to introduce their new works via video presentation to all the Chinese delegates of ChinaSPAF 2019, including major presenters all across mainland China.
The session aims to
· let international performing arts companies, agents, promoters know more about the needs and preferences of Chinese presenters so as to enter Chinese market more effectively;
· share latest information about international programmes with Chinese presenters and provide opportunities for them to talk directly to international companies, agents and promoters. It is also encouraged to share touring opportunities among presenters from different cities in China.
Projects selected to participate in the Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China! has altogether 10 minutes to introduce their work, including 2 min video display, 2 min presentation and 6 min Q&A.
Who can apply?
All types of international performing arts projects will be considered, but prospective projects must be
§ New; and
§ Have NOT toured in mainland China more than once in the past three years;
Also you should keep in mind that -
§ Application is only accessible to the ChinaSPAF 2019 Official Delegate; and
§ One applicant can ONLY apply for one project.
How to apply?
Step 1: Register at the ChinaSPAF 2019.
Step 2: Log in to the ChinaSPAF website with the username and password sent to you after completing the registration.
Step 3: Click “apply” on the webpage of Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China! to fill out the online registration form and submit all required material.
Application deadline is Wednesday, 31 July 2019. All material should be submitted in English and/or Chinese.
What to apply?
§ Filled online application form with project details;
§ Video files of programmes (full-length or at least 15 mins);
§ Promotional photographs.
Step 1: First round selection by the Program Exchange Dept. of The Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF).
Step 2: Selection by major venue presenters from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Xi’an, and other cities across mainland China.
Step 3: Final selection by CSIAF panel that consists of the President, Artistic Director, Performance & Exhibition Dept., Publicity & PR Dept. and Program Exchange Dept.
Candidates will be notified of their application status by Thursday, 5 September 2019. The key consultants of presenting professionals in China mentioned above will attend the final video presentation on Sunday, 20 October 2019.
