LIAO Changyong

LIAO Changyong is a distinguished contemporary Chinese baritone, internationally acclaimed opera singer, and vocal educator, widely known as "the world's premier Chinese baritone." He studied under renowned vocal pedagogue Professor Luo Wei and the legendary Professor Zhou Xiaoyan, often called the "godmother of Chinese vocal music," receiving deep and formative mentorship from both. Throughout his career, Liao has won numerous top prizes in major national and international vocal competitions and has performed at leading opera houses and concert halls worldwide, earning widespread critical and audience acclaim. Currently President of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, he is deeply committed to nurturing vocal talent and advancing music education in China, making outstanding contributions to the legacy and promotion of Chinese vocal art.
