Wei SHEN is an internationally renowned choreographer, dancer, painter, and director. His numerous accolades include the Nijinsky International Award for Best International Choreographer—often regarded as the "Oscar" of dance—the MacArthur "Genius Grant," the John D. Rockefeller III Award, and the International Dance Festival's Lifetime Achievement Award for Choreography. He has been commissioned by major arts festivals and opera houses worldwide, including Lincoln Center Festival and the Kennedy Center, and has created over 30 international commission works spanning opera, ballet, contemporary dance, art film, and installation-based performance, which have toured more than 150 cities across over 40 countries and regions.
