The Network of Silk Road Arts Festivals (referred to as “the Network”) was jointly initiated by the China Shanghai International Arts Festival and several other arts festivals. It was a collaborative network and service platform voluntarily formed mainly by arts festivals from countries jointly building the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), through an approach of inter-connectivity, mutual building and sharing. On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the BRI, during the 22nd China Shanghai International Arts Festival in October 2023, member institutions of the Network convened in Shanghai for the Network of Silk Road Arts Festivals Forum. Embracing the ideas of “Openness, Inclusiveness and Mutual Learning,” it reviewed fruitful achievements in cultural and artistic exchanges and explored the boundless possibilities for future development.
