As a cornerstone of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival’s “Professional Sessions”, the 9th “Golden Magnolia” Shanghai International Puppet Festival and the 2nd “International Excellent Puppetry Presentation” adopted a “double tournament + showcase” model, bringing together 12 top-tier puppet productions from 10 countries and regions. The event featured nearly 100 activities including puppet performances, street parades, and creative markets, and for the first time, scheduled the four‑day “Puppet Carnival” during the National Day holiday, reaching all districts of Shanghai and the Yangtze River Delta. Centring on outstanding international puppetry works, the festival leveraged a standardised international operational model and diverse artistic practices to promote exchange, innovation, and international cooperation in global puppetry arts.
