This is a co-produced performance based on The Butterfly Dream, combined with live performance, live painting, and aspects of Chinese philosophy. With the French visual artist Sherley Freudenreich responsible for storybook creation and stage design, in an improvised collaboration with wheel violist Frédéric Holweck and Chinese woodwind musician JIN Peng, through light and shadow, water and ink, objects, paper puppets, Shadow Play, and other mediums to showcase the pleasant combination between French theatre aesthetics and Chinese Oriental philosophy.
