Xie Molin, born in 1979 in Wenzhou, who studied and graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts and the Edinburgh College of Art of UK. Using machines as tools, he explores a new path for painting, demonstrating the symbiotic relationship between technology and art. His “Shuo” series employs neon-like colours and the regular motion paths of the machine to capture the industrial aesthetics of urban landscapes. Meanwhile, the “Ji” series features continuous dagger-like textures to express the observation to the fragile yet resilient nature of life. This exhibition will feature his representative works, further discussing the possibilities of integrating machinery into art.
