Blossoms Part I by SMG LIVE

Adapted from JIN Yucheng’s novel Blossoms, which won the MAO Dun Literature Prize, this stage drama is directed by MA Junfeng and written by WEN Fangyi. Since its premiere in 2018, the production has attracted over 100,000 viewers, making it a phenomenal work. The play follows the narrative style of the novel, interweaving scenes from the 1960s-70s and the 1990s to depict the turbulence in individual lives during Shanghai's period of social transformation. The central set design features a large revolving stage symbolizing the passage of time and life's cycles, spinning out the lives and stories of Shanghai's people.
