Taiko Performing Arts Ensemble KODO Concert DADAN

DADAN is one of the renowned productions directed by Japan’s national treasure, Bandō Tamasaburō V, for the Kodo Taiko Performing Arts Ensemble, and it will be touring mainland China for the first time. Since its premiere in Tokyo in 2009, the work has received widespread acknowledgement in Paris, Spain, and made its debut in Hong Kong in 2015. Bandō Tamasaburō V, celebrated not only in the world of Kabuki but also for his extraordinary talent in dance, music, and film, has been honored as a “Living National Treasure” and awarded the French Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters. Kodo’s DADAN showcases the essence of traditional Japanese taiko drumming with its distinctive rhythm and artistic style. Featuring an all-male cast of drummers, the performance will combine physical and emotional intensity to deliver a rich tonal palette and an awe-inspiring stage experience.
