Valery Gergiev and Mariinsky Orchestra
Valery Gergiev is a world-renowned conductor who has served as the Artistic Director of the Mariinsky Theatre since 1988, leading the orchestra to international acclaim. The Mariinsky Symphony Orchestra, one of Russia’s oldest musical ensembles, traces its history back to the early 18th century. The orchestra has premiered many Russian classical works and, under Gergiev’s leadership, has expanded its repertoire, earning global recognition.
