After a three-year hiatus, Cloud Gate Dance Theatre is back with the splendid Send In A Cloud, choreographed by its artistic director, Cheng Tsung-lung. Starting November 17th, they will perform three shows at the Shanghai International Dance Center. In 2020, Cheng Tsung-lung took over as the artistic director of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre. During the pandemic, when dancers were isolated at home, he had them improvise dances in front of a camera to express their emotions. He transformed these movements into the vibrant and mesmerizing Send In A Cloud. Dancers gracefully navigate the undulating waves of music while accompanied by Bach's "Cello Suite", played by Japanese composer and saxophonist Yasuaki Shimizu. Audiences have praised Cloud Gate for weaving youthful vitality into their performance.
