The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO)'s concert Legends of Nanyang showcases the unique charm of Singapore and the grandeur of the Chinese orchestra. Join SCO Conductor Emeritus Tsung Yeh and Principal Conductor Quek Ling Kiong as the duo presents an evening of magnificent tunes. Li Baoshun, the Concertmaster and Section Leader, will perform the gaohu concerto The Legend of the Merlion, composed by Liu Xijin. At the same time, pipa chief Yu Jia will interpret The Sword and the Scroll, composed by Sun Jing, allowing the audience to experience the charm and diversity of Chinese music. Additionally, the orchestra will perform Zhao Jiping's Guo Feng, Eric Watson's The Ceilidh, and Law Wai Lun's Zheng He – Admiral of the Seven Seas, Movement I: The Voyage.
