Passion for Homeland is the origin of Jiang Jianhua's erhu artistry and the emotional thread that runs through her music. In 2002, Jiang Jianhua channeled her countless thoughts about her hometown into the album Passion for Homeland, which received a special award at the 17th Japan Golden Record Awards in 2003. It was the only classical music album to make the charts that year. On 26th of October, Jiang Jianhua will return to her hometown and presented an erhu concert in the theme of "Passion for Homeland" at the Cadillac-Shanghai Concert Hall, where she made her last performance 18 years ago.. The program ranged from the folkinspired music to the evocative "Great Sound Resonance" to the "Original Soundtrack Revisited" and concluded with a blend of East and West elements.
