How much is ChinaSPAF registration fee? What are the benefits?

Is there any registration discount?
Yes, we provide the early-bird discount. Besides, organization who registers three individuals and above at the full rate can receive an extra 10% off discount. For a delegation of 10 individuals or more, please contact us for special group rate.
Do I need to make online registration again if I have already submitted the registration form during the manual process before early July?
Your registration during manual process will be turned in directly to our database after the upgrade of official website and you DO NOT need to register for the second time.

How do I pay the registration fee and booth fee?
We only accept international wire transfer as payment method. As it may take up to one week to receive the payment, please make the payment ahead of time. And it would be appreciated if you add your invoice number in the note section when making the bank transfer.
What is the deadline for payment?
We will send you an invoice within three business days after receiving your online registration and/or booth reservation.
Deadline for registration payment is 30 days after the issuing of invoice. For registration after September 15, please email us a copy of the wire transfer receipt once you have made the payment so as to reserve your booth stand(s) if applicable.
What if I fail to make payment before the deadline?
Your registration and booth reservation will be canceled if you fail to make payment before the deadline. While your registration information will still be kept in the system, you can no longer enjoy the early-bird discounts – if applicable.
Can I get refund if I have already paid the registration fee for the physical ChinaSPAF, but I cannot attend?
Notification of cancellation shall be made in writing and sent via email. If the written notification of cancellation is received before 15 September 2020, delegate fee and booth fee (if applicable) will be refunded; if received between 16 September and 30 September 2020, 50% of the delegate fee and booth fee (if applicable) will be refunded. We regret that no refunds will be made for notification received after 1 October 2020. Since the refund procedure is really complicated, we suggest you avoid such situation.
What are the venues for ChinaSPAF 2020?
The main venue for ChinaSPAF 2020 is InterContinental Shanghai Jing'an (No. 500 Hengfeng Road) – which is centrally located in downtown Shanghai. While some showcase venues are outside the hotel, most of them are also in the city center area.
What sort of events and activities are held during ChinaSPAF?
The events and activities of ChinaSPAF include performances, showcases, exhibition, pitch session, forum, workshops, and investment session. For the schedule of events for ChinaSPAF 2020, please click here.
What events and activities can I attend with a valid delegate pass?
With a valid delegate pass, you can attend all the events listed on the schedule except those performances and showcases marked as “Ticket Only.” Although booth fee will be applied if you would like to purchase a booth, every delegate is welcome to visit the exhibition.
How can I connect with other participants before, during, and after ChinaSPAF?
We will send all the registered and paid delegates the username and password to log in to the website. After clicking "Participant List", you will be able to send messages to other registered participants by clicking the "Mail" button. Meanwhile, you will also receive a printed programme of delegates with the contact information of all the participants when picking up your delegate pass at the registration desk onsite.
How do I request tickets for Ticket-Only events and showcases?
We will send you the contact information of the relevant performing groups at the end of September, and you must request your tickets directly from the performing groups.
Are my requests for tickets guaranteed?
No. As there are limited number of complimentary tickets, we highly recommend you to request your tickets as soon as you receive the contact information. And it is upon the performing groups themselves to decide whom to give out the tickets and how many tickets to give out.
How do I know my ticket requests are approved or not?
You will receive a confirmation email from the performing groups once your ticket requests are successfully processed.
How do I purchase the exhibition booth?
Only the registered delegates are eligible to purchase an exhibition booth. You can request the booth when filling out online registration. If you would like to request a booth after completing the online registration, please contact us at email@example.com.
How much will exhibition booth cost?
The regular booth fee is 360 USD, and the early-bird discounts are available before August 31.
When is the booth payment due?
The deadline for the booth fee payment is September 8. A copy of the wire transfer receipt must be emailed to us, if the payment has been made but not come through to our account by that date.
When is the booth exhibition?
October 17 (Saturday), 9:00-17:00
When are the set-up and take-down times?
Set-up period: Oct. 16, 10:00-19:00
Take-down period: Oct. 17, from 17:00
Do I have to set up the booth the day before exhibition?
Yes. Please finish all the set-up by 7pm, the day before the exhibition unless late arrival or otherwise approved by the Festival Committee.
Do I need to have both English and Chinese on the booth banner?
Yes. Please provide us the English and Chinese names of the organization that you would like to be displayed on the booth banner before September 8.
Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China!
Who can apply for this pitch session?
All types of international performing arts projects will be considered, but prospective projects must be
- New works; AND
- Have NOT toured in mainland China more than once in the past three years;
- One applicant can ONLY apply for one project;
- Artists and / or agents have formally registered as the official delegate of ChinaSPAF 2020.
How to apply for pitch session?
a. Register for ChinaSPAF 2020;
b. Fill out online application form with project details;
c. Upload video files of programme (full-length or at least 30mins) and promotional photographs
What is the selection process?
- First round selection by the Program Exchange Dept. of The Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF).
- Second round selection with consultation of 10 presenting professionals in China.
- The top-10 projects will be selected to participate in the Pitch Session: Going to Mainland China! during ChinaSPAF 2020.
When can I apply for this year's pitch session?
The application for 2020 edition of pitch session is open from July 1 to 31.
Do delegate fee include accommodation?
No. But we do provide special rates for the registered delegates to stay at the conference hotels.
What are the conference hotels?
There are two conference hotels: InterContinental Shanghai Jing'an (the main venue for ChinaSPAF; No. 500 Hengfeng Road) and Holiday Inn Downtown (5 minute walk from InterContinental Jing'an; No. 285 West Tianmu Road).
What are the special hotel rates and how do I book the conference hotels?
The special hotel rates and booking methods will be released in August, and we will inform all the registered delegates of the details by email.
