Title of Project:MUSICAL: The Impossibile Man - Houdini Musical Magic
Genre(s): Musical.
GROUP:SHOW BEES MILANO
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF : A musical play, based on the true story of Harry Houdini, the most famous magician and showman of all time, for Broadway, the West End, and international tours (followed by a movie and regional licensing.) The storytelling in the piece would take inspiration from modern Tv shows like Fosse/Verdon, where the narrative bounces between past and present. The present being the last performance Houdini ever gave and the past reflecting memories of Harry from the main characters around him ( i.e. his wife, his brother, his mother, etc.). The show is built around the human need for recognition. We see this need first through Houdini but the theme stretches through to all the characters in the story. This need affects all the relationships on stage and features heavily between Houdini and his wife Bess. ? People today live in a corporate society and even those that do not take part in it experience its effects. Men and women alike struggle for success and do not see the cost to those they love most like husbands, wives, parents, kids, and siblings. These relationships are forfeit and don’t perhaps get the attention they need.
