2022 Happy Chinese New Year Online Performances & Exhibitions by the Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival
The "2022 Happy Chinese New Year Online Performances & Exhibitions by the Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival" will be launched on January 31, 2022. Taking place from January 31 to February 15, the project is hosted by the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism and organized by the Center for China Shanghai International Arts Festival. High-definition videos of stage performances, a guide to the appreciation of Shanghai-style architecture, a documentary, and other wonderful shows will be broadcast on this "online platform," presenting the fruitful results of China’s cultural development to people from various circles of society at home and abroad. It will extend the festive and merry atmosphere of the traditional Chinese New Year to the virtual space, and allow the worldwide spectators who love Chinese culture to appreciate the beauty of China.

An Exhibition of Contemporary Artistic Works by Li Lei
Li Lei is a well-known Chinese contemporary artist, known as "an outstanding representative of Chinese abstract art" in the international artistic community. This time, Li Lei will display online 20 paintings that he has created in recent years to express his deep love for his hometown and his imagination about the unknown. The paintings are divided into five groups: Warm River in Spring, Yang Yun, Fantasy, Lost in Space, and Gravitational Wave.

When Painting Meets Opera: Zhu Gang's Life of Opera Sketching
Zhu Gang is President of Shanghai Art Museum Association, Dean of the School of Fine Arts of Shanghai Institute of Visual Arts, and a famous opera sketcher. He began to learn painting when he was a child. In his career of opera sketching spanning nearly 40 years, he has always pursued the integration of Chinese operas and modern painting to express traditional Chinese culture in Chinese operas. The historical stories of Wang Zhaojun Departs for the Frontier, the Drunken Concubine, Farewell to My Concubine and others are often the subjects of his works.
