Concert by Violinist Cho-Liang Lin and Pianist Li Jian

Concert by Violinist Cho-Liang Lin and Pianist Li Jian Cho-Liang Lin began to play violin since he was five years old, leaving for Australia from his born place Taiwan to further study music. He has released several albums and won two Grammy nominations. This meteoric rise to the top ranks of violin-playing has placed him among the most sought-after violinists in the world. He plays regularly with leading orchestras, and teaches also at his alma mater, Juilliard, as well as the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.

Pianist Li Jian gained worldwide recognition in 1981 when he, at the age of 16, took second grand prize in the prestigious Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud competition in Paris an honor which resulted in numerous engagements in Europe, including performances in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Great Britain. In 1985, he came to the United States to be enrolled in the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, studying with the legendary Mieczyslaw Horszowski where he was awarded the Festorazzi Award as the most promising graduating piano student in 1990.

This golden duo with 20 years of cooperation experience will grace the stage of the China Shanghai International Arts Festival and display the "intimate dialogue" between piano and strings.
