One of Spain's most renowned dancers, Aida Gomez, has skillfully distilled the essence of the classic story of Carmen based on Mérimée's novella and Bizet's opera. She has created a work of art that is passionate and intense. The core of Flamenco is the expression of inner emotions through body language; for Carmen, it's the perfect dance form. Despite the dancers wearing traditional costumes and narrating a 19th-century story, the emotions at the heart of the story resonate strongly with modern audiences. In terms of music, Gomez drew inspiration from Bizet's opera score, and the guitar playing seamlessly complements the rhythms of the dance.
