The Sirba Octet is a musical ensemble founded by violinist Richard Schmoucler in 2003. It combines classical music with traditional Eastern European folk music. The ensemble comprises five musicians from the Paris Orchestra, the French National Orchestra, and the Paris Opera Orchestra, along with a pianist, a cimbalom player, and arranger Cyril Lehn. This unique combination offers a fresh perspective on the music of Klezmer, Yiddish, and Tsigan. The musicians of the Sirba Octet skillfully blend various genres, combining folk instruments with orchestral and chamber music to deliver a captivating and insightful performance.
