The Student Arts Jury (SAJ) was founded in 2017 with the guidance and support of the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture and Tourism and the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Every year, a group of young students with artistic interests, cultural literacy, and a passion for the stage are recruited from various schools in the city. They participate in multiple performances and exhibitions at the arts festival and engage in activities such as bringing art into schools and art salons. SAJ is committed to providing young students with artistic interests and the opportunity to experience high-level, international art performances and exhibitions. They are encouraged to make serious critiques and reflections from their own perspectives and voices. This initiative aims to create a youth-oriented theatre and exhibition recommendation index called the "Youth Review Rating Index".
