The play Lu Ji was written by Professor Lu Jun and Professor Xiao Liu, with Professor Yi Tianfu serving as the director and visual director. This play is part of the "Historical Figures of Songjiang" series. Lu Ji, born in Huating (now Songjiang) in Wu County, was a renowned literary and calligraphy figure during the Western Jin dynasty. He is also the author of "Wen Fu". Lu Ji narrates his reflections on his life while imprisoned after falling from grace in 303 AD. It portrays Lu Ji's journey from a spirited young man when he first arrived in Luoyang to his seemingly impending death as a wayward descendant of his family. The play highlights the complex emotional journey Lu Ji undergoes as he faces malicious plots from colleagues and questioning from his son, showcasing his evolution from a youthful and spirited individual to a man grappling with challenges.
