As the Hong Kong Cultural Ambassador, the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will perform the opening ceremony for the Hong Kong Cultural Week at the China Shanghai International Arts Festival. The concert repertoires include the famous violin concertos The Butterfly Lovers, Zhu Jianer's A Sorrowful Tune and Zhao Jiping's Follow the Pagoda Tree to Trace the Roots of Our Ancestors, as well as two world premieres. The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra will use the self-developed environmental Huqin as the main instrument to bring the modern ethnic orchestra to the audience.
