Chaohu folk songs present endless artistic charm with its melodious tunes, simple lyrics and unique singing styles. Throughout the ages, Chaohu folk songs have continued to spread through the voice of the mouth. It is roughly divided into "Folk Song", "Yangko", "Work song", "Folk minor", “Rap”, "instrumental music" (mainly Buddhism) and so on, among which "Yangko" is the most representative. Chaohu folk songs record labor, life scenes, folk customs and natural scenery in a colorful genre, unpretentious content, and vivid performances.
