Sub-Forum IV: Strengthen Collaboration, Achieve Mutual Benefits– Cultural Exchanges & Collaboration within BRICS countries

Time: October 20th, 2013

Place: L2 Coral-1, Intercontinental Shanghai Puxi

In 2015, BRICS will cover half of the world population, half of the world demands for funds and technology, and 60% of global economic growth. As a new generator of world economy, BRICS will become a market with huge scale and rapid growth rate. Since the establishment of BRICS association, it is easier for each country to make efforts in emphasizing its status on the world stage and enhancing its international influences. Meanwhile, each country is implementing successful collaboration in many fields such as economy & commerce, science & technology, security, jurisdiction, etc. BRICS becomes the new influential centre of the world. Due to the far geographical distance and distinctive cultural backgrounds, additional efforts are needed for BRICS to strengthen collaboration and communication in the cultural field. In order to outline a new influential culture centre, it is meaningful to build a more understandable and standard communication mechanism.

This forum for cultural officials from BRICS focuses on the possibility to develop multi-lateral communication and collaboration in the cultural & arts field. While respecting various cultural backgrounds, BRICS are on the way of creating opportunities for more potential collaboration in the future.
