Established in1932, Sydney Symphony Orchestra is one of the most excellent symphony orchestras in the world. The Sydney Symphony Orchestra has more than 100 performances, and has ever toured Europe, Asia and America. It gained an award of education, whose core is the emphasis on and commitment for the future of live symphonic music -- appealing to more audience, especially the youth. The orchestra maintains a very effective commissioned plan. The major composers of the recent premiere performance include Ross Edward, Brett Dean, Lisa Lin (the resident composer from 2004 to 2006). In October 2009, they will begin their Asian tour.

In 2009, Vladimir Ashkenazy became the chief director and artistic inspector of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He, a Russian conductor and virtuoso pianist, has skillful fingers leaping on the keyboard with rhythm; his plays possess beautiful tone, absorbing the virtues of many Russian pianists. In 1981, after Vladimir was appointed as the conductor of British Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, he stood on the international stage of conductors with his works ranging from Beethoven to the works of the 20th century, among which the plays of Rachmaninoff and Sibelius symphonies are extremely brilliant.
