Yo-Yo Ma graces Shanghai Grand Theatre Distinguished cellist Yo-Yo Ma will grace the 11th China Shanghai International Arts Festival with a cello solo concert accompanied by world renowned pianist Kathryn Stott at Shanghai Grand Theatre on Nov 18th. Ma's concert is regarded as an important performance of Shanghai Grand Theatre's "World famous soloist series". Ma has cooperated with Shanghai Grand Theatre since the official operation of Grand Theatre in 1998. Five Ma's concert has ever been presented at Shanghai Grand Theatre, which are warmly welcomed by audience. Ma said that he has been accustomed to playing at Shanghai Grand Theatre which has been reputed as the tap classical music hall in Shanghai. "Every time I stand at the stage, I feel a pulse to have a try, which I think is very important for the soloist to get into shape. I am excited to be back here to meet the audience",said Ma. In Shanghai concert, Ma will perform the music composed by Italian maestro Ennio Morricone, " L" composed by Graham Fitkin,and " Cello Sonata No. 1 in E minor by Brahms.
