The Cuban National Ballet has launched the China Shanghai International Arts Festival with a classic ballet called Don Quixote, which combines Cuban style and traditional dance style. This is also the first time the Cuban National Ballet has participated in the festival. This version of Don Quixote, adapted from the ballet master Alicia Alonso, is considered to be the first professional version created by a dance company with Iberian culture and language roots. Since its debut, this work has been constantly revised to bring the most exciting presentation to the audience. The Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra is accompanying the live performance of the closing dance drama Don Quixote.
