The Spirit of China Nation by Suzhou Su Opera Inheritance and Preservation Centre

The Su Opera The Spirit of China Nation is adapted from the real story of Pan Family donating a Ding (a kind of ancient cooking vessel) to the country. The opera is based on the history of 84 years from 1923 to 2007 during which the Chinese nation experienced tangled warfare among warlords of the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the War of Resistance Against Japanese Invasion, and the War of Liberation, up to the establishment and development of the People’s Republic of China. Taking the experience of Pan Family to protect and donate a Ding as the main material, the opera concentrats the Chinese nation’s spirit of guarding the country’s thousand-year-old cultural relics in the heroine Pan Da, depicting the firm belief of the Chinese descendants in building the country through culture and composing a “righteous song of the time” for protecting national treasure at all costs.
