The National Theatre of China produced the Song of Voyagers as a gift to mark the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up. The work is directed by Jiang Tao and written by Liu Shen whose creation style is powerful and straightforward with deep humanistic feelings. This original drama records the figure of strangers who went to Shenzhen to make a living and Shenzhen’s transformation from a small fishing village to a prosperous trade zone in the past 40 years since the reform and opening-up, presenting dramatic social development and historical changes.
