The Shanghai Opera Heritage Center of Changning District (Changning Shanghai Opera Troupe) has created and performed the original Shanghai Opera Director of the Lane, which takes Zhu Guoping, the Secretary of the General Party Branch of the Hongchu Residential Committee of Changning District, Shanghai as the prototype character, depicting the work and life of a grass-root community worker under the background of carrying out the mass line education campaign in the whole country. Following the creative technique of “coming from life and then going back to life”, the whole drama takes inspirations from the people and what they’ve done in ordinary life and refines them to a high degree. Through the re-creation and re-processing of art, it presents a moving dramatic tension.
