Adapted from Shen Shixi’s novel of the same name, the play is tragic, moving and thought-provoking story. It tells about Ga Suo, the last war elephant who survived in a war happened near the Daluo River, Xishuangbanna, was once again saddled and returned to the battlefield before death and dug a pit beside the tomb of his fellow elephants to bury himself solemnly. The novel is written in a dignified, tragic and thought-provoking manner. It praises kindness and loyalty of war elephant Ga Suo and portraysdeep affection between human beings and animals.
