Concert by Paavo Järvi & Tonhalle Orchestra Zürich

Founded in 1868, the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra has been the most historic symphony orchestra in Switzerland. Its concert hall of the same name is considered to be one of the best concert halls in the world. It is composed by more than 100 musicians who come from 20 different countries. The orchestra usually puts up about 50 programs during a season. The Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra own more than 40 CD records. All Beethoven, Mahler, Brahms and Schubert symphony records have attracted considerable attention from the public and critics.

Paavo·Jarvi, borne in a family of musicians, was awarded the White Star Medal by the President of Estonia in 2013 for his outstanding contribution to Estonian culture.

Piano Concerto No. 2 of Rachmaninov and Fifth Symphony of Mahler will be played in the concert.
