Set up by Rafael Zamarripa Castaneda, a renowned sculptor, dancer and choreographer, Colima Folkloric Ballet is one of the most representative dance companies in Mexico known for its colorful and vigorous rendering and the deep-rooted ethnic features. Its repertoire ranges from earthy aboriginal dance to traditional folk dance, giving a rich and profound interpretation of both South American exoticism and Mexican culture. Besides tours in Europe and the United States frequently, the company has also been invited to give performances on grand occasions such as Expos, Cultural Olympics and presidential conferences.
