Symphonic Concert - Christoph Eschenbach with Paris Orchestra

Date: Nov. 2
Venue: Shanghai Grand Theatre
Presenter: Shanghai Grand Theatre

CHRISTOPH ESCHENBCH has conducted almost all the first-rank symphony orchestras in the world. Owing to his outstanding achievements in the musical world, he received Commanders Cross of the German Order of Merit. Orchestre de Paris, the brilliant representative of French music scene, remains at the zenith of world symphony orchestras.

Maestro Christoph Eschenbach will reunite with Chinese music fanatics with Orchestre de Paris, where he has assumed the position as Music Director since 2000. The orchestras program at the Festival consists of Sheng Zongliangs Flute Moon, Dutilleuxs L'arbre de Songes, Ravels Daphnis et Chloe, Valses Nobles et Sentimentale and Bolero. In particular, Flute Moon is reputed to be one of the best works of Chinese composer & conductor, Sheng Zongliang. Based on Chinese fairytales and ancient poems, the music expresses the composers deep-rooted motherland complex, and will certainly be endowed with sensitive and exotic flavor when performed by Eschenbch and French musicians.
