The Architecture of the City was inspired by the work of the Italian architect Adolph Rossi. Director Hu Enwei cited a phrase from the book as “There is no study of the state of urban living, cannot achieve architecture” as the beginning of the introduction of the work. It means that based on the classics of modern architecture theory in the 20th century, discovering the cultural trajectory of the city and exploring alternative spatial experiences. This is a work without a narrative. The performance presents the unique Hong Kong urban style in the form of music, video and performance, and serves as a trajectory for finding Hong Kong's collective memories, evoking the audience's impression of Hong Kong.
