Huadeng Opera The Moon Shines the Maple-woods Ferry tells a warm story about the kind and weak girl Liuhehe’s marriage with Lin in North Guizhou Maple-woods Ferry. Unfortunately, Liuhehe’s husband Linyuru have an affair with the maid servant Meixiang and have a daughter with her.  Although Liuhehe repeated persuasion, Meixiang was finally banished by the mother Linfu. Linyuru misunderstanding and disfavor Liuhehe after this incident. Finally, after many twists and turns Linyuru and his daughter Yuemei returned to hometown and were acquainted with each other. They lived together with Liuhehe happily due to the truth has been brought into daylight.

Guizhou Huadeng Opera Theater was established in 1956 that is the National intangible cultural heritage protection and inheritance company named by the Sate Council and the key troupe of National local drama original performance named by Ministry of culture. After the arduous pioneering and hard exploration by several generations of artists, Huadeng Opera evolved from a single form of folk art into an unique local opera full of dancing and sing with various forms, which enjoyed the high praises as a flower in the Chinese opera garden. It also was rewarded as the advanced collectives by the 14 Ministries including the Ministry of culture and  the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC.
