An Evening with Benjamin Millepied by LA Dance Project

L.A. Dance Project is a dance company founded in 2012 by choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied, along with composer Nico Muhly, art consultant Matthieu Humery, founding producer Charles Fabius and composer Nicholas Britell.

L.A. Dance Project’s mission is to create new work and to revive seminal collaborations from influential dance makers. Programs include full-length evenings in traditional theater venues as well as site specific performances in non-traditional environments. New works by the company endeavor to be multidisciplinary collaborations with visual artists, musicians, designers, film directors and composers. L.A. Dance Project promotes the work of emerging and established creators, contributing to new platforms for dance.

Mr. Millepied’s many ballets are in the repertory of major dance companies around the world. In 2016, Benjamin came back full time at L.A Dance Project as its artistic director. Mr. Millepied is committed to creating a company with a new artistic and economic model, something he feels is an important matter in this current time. LADP is the ideal platform for him to foster his vision for dance. Millepied is also a film director, he has directed numerous dance short films. In 2018, Millepied will make his directorial debut with a film musical adaptation of “Carmen”.
