The orchestra, led by one of the most distinguished contemporary conductors, Christoph Eschenbach, is composed by about 100principals and chief performers of different voice parts from famous orchestras all over the world. It is confirmed that principal players of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra will give performances in Shanghai. Christoph Eschenbach, a world-renowned conductor, is one of the most popular music maestros in the contemporary international musical circle. He is a pianist enjoying high reputation before he became a conductor. He has collaborated with almost every top symphony orchestra in the world, and was granted The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany and Leonard Bernstein Award in succession for his great achievements. Eschenbach is also a productive recording artist: he has made 65 records including the pieces of Bach, Brahms, Berlioz, Grieg, Mahler, Mendelssohn, Messiaen, Saint-Saens, Schuman, Strauss, and Tchaikovsky.
