Tibetan relics highlight Shanghai International Arts Festival

A Buddhist statue from Tibet is at the center of a gallery at a relic exhibition at the China Art Museum in Shanghai, Oct 27, 2015. The exhibition opened on Tuesday during Tibet Culture Week, which is a major activity of the ongoing Shanghai International Arts Festival. The exhibition will run through Nov 26.

The exhibition, the largest-ever display outside Tibet, showcases many precious collections, and many of the relics are out of Tibet for the first time. The more than 120 collections on display present a history spanning from the Northern Wei Dynasty (368-534) to modern times.
