The Tibet Culture Week Celebrating the Opening

Yesterday, as one part of the 17th China Shanghai International Arts Festival , the opening ceremony of Tibet Culture Week and the Snow Land Wonders——Tibet Cultural Relics & Treasures Exhibition was held in China Art Palace. The deputy director of the Organizing Committee of China Shanghai International Arts Festival, minister of Publicity Department of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee Dong Yunhu and the deputy secretary of Tibet autonomous regions Meng Deli attended the opening ceremony.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of Tibet autonomous regions, the Tibet Culture Week this year provides an important stage to show traditional Tibet culture. The Tibet Cultural Relics & Treasures Exhibition consists of four sections, occupying an area of 400 square meters. Through displaying the collections of the Potala Palace, the Norbulinka and Tibet Museum ranging from Northern Wei Dynasty to the PRC, the exhibition fully shows the essence of Tibetan culture and art in the past several thousand years and plays an important role in promoting the tourism in Tibet.

Cultural relics are the carrier of history and culture. Under the support of Chinese government and people, Tibet culture relics including Buddha statues, Buddhist sutra, Buddhist instruments, thangka and Tibetan costumes have been protected well.

At that night, the epic dance Wild Tibet was performed by the Tibet Song & Dance Troupe in Shanghai Culture Square Center. It combines many forms including folk music, dance, costume, instrument and opera to show the long history and culture of Tibet. Through stereoscopic stage design and modern sound and music design, it depicts the happy life of Tibetan people and harmonious development of Tibet and displays the typical natural scenery in Tibet such as snow mountain, prairie, lake and forest, making the dance more immersive and bringing the audience to enjoy the charming Tibet.
